Associated Press Television Networks Continues Along Pro-Bel Route
Reading, UK – 18th July 2006 – Pro-Bel, the premier manufacturer of routing switchers, signal processing, master control, automation and control and monitoring technologies, has announced that Associated Press Television Networks (APTN) has purchased and installed new router and router control technology at its key US hub in Washington, DC. The contract and installation was handled by Professional Products, a long-term Pro-Bel partner.
APTN is part of the globally renowned Associated Press. Its state-of-the-art television news service has three key hubs; London, New York and Washington and it supplies content to over 330 broadcasters worldwide. This sits alongside radio and web-based services with a total of 242 total bureaus globally.
APTN has already deployed Pro-Bel routing and control technology in London and New York. Washington, which distributes inbound feeds across the US and outbound internationally, now benefits from a Sirius 256 x 256 routing switcher, equipped 192 x 192 SD with embedded audio. This HD-ready system replaces existing analog routing technology.
For control in the Washington facility APTN is using Aurora, Pro-Bel’s widely deployed technology. In order to add massive flexibility, APTN is also using Morpheus Control & Monitoring software from the company. This allows bureaus across the US to access router crosspoints over the internet, thereby providing the ability to select a precise signal path remotely.
