Reading, UK - 26th May 2006 - Pro-Bel, the premier manufacturer of routing switchers, signal processing, master control, automation and control and monitoring technologies, announced that Channel 13 in Santiago, Chile, has placed a second order for its router technology following the successful recent purchase and installation of its products. The order and installation has been overseen by Pro-Bel’s Chilean partner AVC Com.
Channel 13 produces and transmits three channels: its main general entertainment channel, which is carried both terrestrially and on cable; a cable channel that features a range of Channel 13’s own productions; the thirds is a sports channel that carries a high level of soccer content. The content is a mixture of Channel 13’s own productions and re-distribution.
Channel 13 is moving from an analog to a digital environment, mirroring the overall broadcasting situation across the country. Currently three-quarters of its ten studios are digital.
The initial order was for Sirius and Freeway routing switchers. The Sirius was equipped 128 x 128 SD and analog video. The Freeway is being used for audio and is equipped 128 x 128 stereo analog. Following the successful installation, Head of the Engineering department Marcelo Paez Gaete has placed an order for two further Sirius routing switchers, both 128 x 128 and an Aurora router control system. Pro-Bel’s Vistek signal processing and sync technology has also been installed.
Victor Porter, Business Development Manager - Latin America, said, “Pro-Bel has long been active in the Latin American market but with the establishment of our office in Brazil last year and the strengthening of our relationship with regional partners we are able to provide even higher levels of service to our customers.”
